Love is in the air! No, that’s not the first song on today’s list—but since it’s Valentine’s week (at the time of writing this blog) love really is everywhere. Especially so for you soon-to-be-wed couples, who are probably deep in wedding planning mode, ticking off that ever-growing to-do list.

So me to ease some of that stress, with some song choice selection suggestions. In the theme of love of course!

As a wedding singer, I work with the peaks and troughs of wedding season, always keeping the romance alive, not just for my couples but for myself too! So, I thought it’d be fun to share my top 10 favourite vintage and vintage-inspired love songs to perform at weddings.

And when I say vintage vibes, I mean those songs that have that old-school charm. Whether they’ve been reimagined or just naturally carry that timeless feel, even if they were released post-millennium.

(Oh, and stick around for a rogue real-life surprise wedding day request at the end…)

  1. Let There Be Love

The king of swing and love songs. He's is to Valentines day, what Bublé is to Christmas! Perfectly sets the tone for the start of any wedding day setlist.

Smiling man in a suit and tie, black and white photo. Neutral background, conveys a friendly, cheerful mood.
     (Nat King Cole 1962)

  2. Can't Take My Eyes Off You An essential sway and sing-along, as in my repertoires case, I opt for a soft acoustic cover!

Four men in tuxedos smile and gesture broadly, posing against a plain background, conveying a joyful and lively mood.
(Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons 1967)

  3. Cheek To Cheek

From the film Top hat, this big swing-band song speaks to the slow dancing, romance fans of old Hollywood glamour!

A man and woman elegantly dance in vintage attire on a stage with ornate decorations. She wears a ruffled gown; he’s in a tuxedo.
(Fred Astaire & Ginger Rodgers 1935)

  4. You Send Me A real first dance request from a couple, this slow dancing bop is both adorable and uplifting! You could also opt for the equally beautiful cover, by Aretha Franklin from 1968.

Smiling man in a gray suit and tie against a solid orange background, conveying a warm and professional mood.
    (Sam Cooke 1957)

  5. Can't Help Falling In Love With You Is it even a wedding day song list without this iconic serenade? Standing the test of time, this song is notorious for being one of the most requested wedding songs still!

Man in a red floral shirt and lei plays a ukulele with a cityscape in the background, smiling. Mid-century vintage vibe.
    (Elvis Presley 1961)

  6. Still Into You

The first in this line-up of retro reworked covers. Appealing to the elder emo millennial audience. Opting for this version allows you to incorporate some of your quirky personality. While keeping the tone more, let’s say, volume friendly for the rest of your wedding guests.

Three people with colorful, neon lighting stand against a black background. One has bright orange hair, and they all wear dark clothing.
     (Paramore/Post-Modern Jukebox Jazzy Cover 2013)

  7. Everything

Just like Nat King Cole, it would be a crime not to include the modern day king of swing in a vintage style wedding day setlist! One of his biggest original hits and for good cute reason too!

Man in a black suit and tie with short hair and beard, posing against a light gray background, displaying a calm expression.
    (Michael Bublé 2007)

  8. I Think They Call This Love A truly Gen-Z Tiktok sensation, with undeniable Elvis influence. This do-wop tunes could've easily have been plucked right out of the 1950s. Romantic nostalgia at it's best!

Young man playing guitar, wearing a white shirt with patches, looking focused. Black and white. Plain background. Calm mood.
    (Elliot James Ray 2024)

  9. Baby I'm Yours

A popular requests amongst my modern couples with vintage vibes. This under-rated indie cover by the big time Yorkshire band. Again oozes 1950s swagger and serenade.

Four young men stand closely together, wearing jackets. The image is black and white with a neutral background, conveying a serious mood.
    (Arctic Monkeys 2006)

  10. Hey There Delilah With it's 1920's war-time lovers twist, this cover is both a head turner, toe tapper and surprisingly cute addition to a vintage vibe wedding day setlist.

Five men sit closely in a blue room, gazing into the camera. They wear casual, colorful clothing, giving a relaxed and contemplative vibe.
(Plain White T's/Post-Modern Jukebox World's Fairground Style Cover 2006)

    Since U Been Gone

A rogue suggestion was promised and here it is. No this is not a love song. In-fact, it's the complete opposite (boy bye!). Real life wedding couples have requested this self-love anthem and jazzy cover to be part of their wedding day setlist. For no other reason than the fact that it’s an absolute banger!

Blonde woman with layered hair, wearing a black top and silver earrings, poses confidently against a gray background.
    (Kelly Clarkson/PMJ Jazzy Cover 2004)

So, while this list is all about sharing my favourite wedding love songs. My honest advice as an experienced wedding singer is this: When it comes to planning your wedding day setlist, there really are no rules. And that alone should be all the inspiration you need!
